Allegro Microsystems, LLC announces the appointment of the new president and chief operating officer

Allegro MicroSystems, LLC, and its board of directors, has appointed Ravi Vig as president and chief operating officer of Allegro and as a member of the Sanken North America (SKNA) board of directors, effective immediately. Ravi previously held the position of senior vice president, technology and business development.

Since joining the company in 1984, Mr. Vig has spearheaded significant strategic and advanced technology projects that have contributed to Allegro’s overall growth and success. In 2015, Allegro reached a major milestone of 500 million dollars in revenue and the Business Development Organisation, led by Mr. Vig, was a contributing factor to this key advancement in the company’s history.

“I am honoured to lead the company into its next stage of growth and profitability. I look forward to strengthening Allegro’s position as an industry leader in magnetic sensing and power IC’s. Our focus will be on leveraging our core technologies and high quality manufacturing processes to create the next-generation of innovative products,” said Mr. Vig.

Mr. Vig succeeds Dennis H. Fitzgerald, who retired from Allegro MicroSystems, LLC as president and chief executive officer and from his role as president of SKNA on May 20, 2016. Mr. Fitzgerald has worked at Allegro for over three-plus decades and held the position of president and CEO for the past 16 years.

“Ravi’s breadth of knowledge, innovative skills, and strategic vision are well known to the organisation. I am confident that he will continue Allegro’s growth and prosperity,” said Mr. Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald will continue to serve Allegro as a member of the board of directors of SKNA. He also will serve in a management advisory role through the remainder of the year.
