Advantech Rolling Out 3rd Generation Intel Core Processor-based Embedded Platforms

With smart performance, built-in graphics, manageability, security, and versatility, the new platforms are optimized for applications in industrial automation, digital signage, video, medical, transportation and gaming.

According to IDC studies, the total available market for global embedded and intelligent system devices is predicted to exceed 25 billion by 2020. “To fulfill the market demand, Advantech is devoted to develop intelligent industrial computers based on the latest Intel technology platform” said Franz Wei, Vice President of Embedded System Group. Employing the 3rd generation Intel® Core processors and Intel Q77 Express chipset, Advantech has developed a series of industrial-grade embedded boards in a range of form factors: PICMG 1.3 SBC, ATX, and MicroATX; these are the PCE-5127, AIMB-782, and AIMB-582. They feature enhanced CPU performance, next-generation I/O, and power efficiency, as well as enhanced 3D graphics and media processing.

Based on the 3rd generation Intel Core processors and the Intel QM77 Express chipset, Advantech is also launching the Mini-ITX AIMB-273, MI/O Extension SBC MIO-5290, and Com-Express basic module SOM-5892, with high speed interface USB 3.0, three independent displays, DDR3-1333 low voltage support, etc. to provide advanced options for new technologies. And Advantech’s two new models in the embedded signage box series, ARK-DS262 and ARK-DS762, highlight designs compliant with OPS and high performance graphics.

These new embedded boards, modules, and signage box series come with multi OS and software support. For instance, Advantech’s SUSIAccess, remote device management, which lets users remotely control, configure, and manage multiple terminal devices and data, as well as providing system maintenance, backup and recovery, supports most of the new models of embedded boards and modules. Another Advantech intelligent self-management software, iManager, is a built-in chip solution that provides a standardized API, integrates several unique platforms, and supports SOM-5892.

Besides, Advantech has also successfully implemented 3rd generation Intel Core  processors into its new server-grade motherboard—ASMB-782 to meet higher computing application markets, and all the new embedded platforms will be available from Q2 to Q3 this year.
