UNIPOWER LLC has unveiled a new high voltage power supply series designed to address the needs of a wide range of industrial, analytical, scientific and medical X-Ray applications. The XRC/XRS Series is the latest in a long line of high voltage power sources developed by Universal Voltronics, which was acquired by UNIPOWER in August 2011.

Microsemi Corporation has introduced the first in a series of new generation 1200 volt (V) non-punch through (NPT) IGBTs. The new family of IGBTs leverages Microsemi's Power MOS 8 technology, and offers a significant reduction of 20 percent or more in total switching and conduction losses as compared to competitive solutions. The IGBTs are targeted at applications including welding, solar inverters, and uninterruptible and switch mode power supplies.

Torex Semiconductor has launched a new version of its successful Micro-DC/DC family.  The XCL201/202 uses the same construction technique as the original XCL205/06 series, in which a Synchronous DC/DC Converter IC is embedded within a fully shielded Thin-Film Power Inductor.  The simplicity of the construction means that the device is inexpensive to produce, making the XCL20x series suitable for cost sensitive applications where PCB space is at a premium.

Amplifier Technology Ltd, a UK company designing and manufacturing broadband power amplifiers, has unveiled the latest addition to its product range: the 8817 broadband amplifier which operates across a huge spectrum, covering all frequencies between 0.5GHz and 2.5GHz.

Murata Power Solutions has introduced a new UWE series of highly efficient 100 – 120 Watt open frame isolated DOSA-compatible eighth-brick DC/DC converters. Using the industry standard through-hole package, measuring 58.42 x 22.86 x 9.91 mm (2.3 x 0.9 x 0.39 inches), the single output units offer the nominal outputs of 3.3, 5 or 12 VDC.

Microsemi Corporation has launched a new dimmable LED driver module that has been optimised for worldwide residential, commercial and industrial light fixtures. The 30 watt (W) LXMG221W-0700030-D0 LED driver enables start up times of 150 milliseconds (ms) or faster, closely emulating the “lights-on” performance of a typical incandescent lamp.

Lattice Semiconductor has launched a scalable, in-system upgradable, star topology power management architecture that can be used across a wide range of circuit boards requiring more than 12 power supply rails.  Lattice has also simultaneously made available two new application notes for its Platform Manager devices that will enable customers to quickly adopt the new architecture. 

The TC7SB3157CFU from Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) is a 1-bit SPDT (single pole double throw) bus switch for high-speed digital applications requiring a 5V interface. With low I/O terminal capacitance (CI/O) and on resistance (RON) the new device is suitable for switching high-speed data traffic.

NXP Semiconductors has launched the SSL2109 – a high-efficiency buck controller for high-power, non-dimmable LED lighting applications using non-isolated topologies. Designed for use with an external power switch, the SSL2109 LED driver IC provides a single design platform for 100V, 120V and 230V mains input voltages and power ranges up to 25 W.

UNIPOWER LLC has launched a new 80W power supply platform with up to four outputs that can be quickly configured to order while maintaining all international safety approvals. Part of UNIPOWER’s EASYMOD family of power platforms, the AE-080U can be quickly configured to provide output combinations and user defined features not available with standard power supplies.

Allegro MicroSystems has launched the A8601, a fixed-frequency, multiple-output voltage regulator IC designed to provide the LCD display bias in automotive infotainment applications.

New from Torex Semiconductor the XCL208/XCL209 is a family of 400mA micro DC/DC Step-Down Converters with integrated coil. Measuring only 2.5mm x 2.15mm x 1.05mm, the series is designed to minimise EMC emissions and maximise efficiency, while delivering a very stable output with low peak to peak ripple Voltage (<10mV).

Ericsson has announced an extension to its 3E Gold Design Kit with the launch of two new development board kits. Launched last year the 3E Gold Edition Design Kit has been used by board and system architects and enables the easy implementation of the company’s Advanced Bus Converters – the BMR453 and BMR454 – and its 3E PMBus-compliant Point-of-Load DC-DC regulators.

Intersil Corporation has unveiled iSim v4.1, an upgrade to its web-based non-inverting and inverting op amp design tools. These tools build on the previously released Active Filter Designer and expand the solution set offered by Intersil’s interactive online tools.

Diodes Incorporated has launched a line of high-efficiency N- and P-channel MOSFETs in low-profile DFN2020-6 packages.  With an off-board height of only 0.4mm and a footprint of 4mm2 the DFN2020H4 packaged DMP2039UFDE4 - a -25V rated P-channel device -  is, according to the company, 50% thinner than competing devices.
