Vishay Intertechnology has introduced four new engineering design kits for its AEC-Q200-qualified D/CRCW e3 thick film chip resistors. Designed to help engineers select the right resistor for their applications, the kits offer the commercial-off-the-shelf devices in 0402, 0603, 0805, and 1206 case sizes and a wide variety of resistance values, conveniently taped in strips and individually labelled and packaged.

Vishay Precision Group’s Vishay Foil Resistors division (VFR) has unveiled a new video that presents a demonstration of the cryogenic capabilities of Bulk Metal Foil resistors. Vishay Intertechnology has launched a new high-performance metallized DC polypropylene film capacitor, that has been engineered for DC-link applications and features a slim design, the industry's broadest CV range from 2 µF up to 100 µF, and voltage ratings of 500 VDC, 700 VDC, and 1,000 VDC. The MKP1848S will provide designers with a number of options for their specific application, featuring low profiles of 12 mm, 15 mm, 18 mm, and 24 mm.

The latest innovation in multilayer chip capacitors (mlccs) from Syfer Technology is a range of compact devices suitable for high voltage applications, supplied with a built-in protective coating.  Typically, with standard high voltage capacitors, a special coating is applied after the devices are soldered onto the board in order to minimise the risk of flashover from one termination on the chip to another.

Frequency control specialist, Euroquartz has launched Statek’s latest crystal oscillator that has been designed for high temperature, high shock applications. The HGXOHT offers frequency output from 460kHz to 50MHz, and is capable of operating up to 225°C and can survive extremely high shocks – up to 100,000g.

Murata has commenced mass production of the ultra thin VSLBG2216E waterproof piezoelectric speaker. With a thickness of just 0.9 mm it is believed to be the world’s thinnest IPX7 speaker. Designed for consumer electronics applications, it is unlike other similar devices in that it does not require any additional waterproof membrane to be applied during end-product manufacture.

KEMET has introduced ArcShield capacitor technology for use in high voltage applications that tend to be susceptible to surface arcing (arc-over discharge). Surface arcing is generally caused by a high voltage gradient between the MLCC’s termination surfaces or between one termination surface and the component’s internal electrode structure. This phenomenon can either damage surrounding components or lead to a breakdown of the MLCC’s dielectric material.

Crystek Corporation has unveiled the CCHD-957, a new Ultra-Low Phase Noise HCMOS clock oscillator with standby mode, featuring an extremely low close-in phase noise of -100 dBc/Hz @ 10Hz offset and a typical noise floor of -170 dBc/Hz @ 100kHz offset.

AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of advanced passive components and interconnect solutions has announced that all its current tantalum powder and wire suppliers are fully compliant with the independently-audited Conflict-Free Smelter Programme (CFS). Going forward, AVX will exclusively use tantalum powder and wire from conflict-free compliant smelters.

Murata has launched the KCM series of chip monolithic ceramic capacitors (MLCC) aimed at automotive applications. Equipped with metal pins, the capacitors have been specifically designed to have long-term resilience against substrate expansion and contraction stresses resulting from sharp temperature changes experienced in automotive environments.
