ViMOS’ strong partnerships with Taiwanese suppliers enable it to offer creative solutions to the system designer’s challenge of improving performance while reducing cost
ViMOS Technologies, the European distributor of electronics components, has announced that it has signed a franchise deal to sell the products of Nuvoton, a manufacturer of microcontrollers, microprocessors, systems-on-chip and audio semiconductors, in Central Europe. The addition of the Nuvoton franchise extends ViMOS’ broad portfolio of digital and analogue semiconductors, passives, embedded computing boards and embedded software.
Like other franchised suppliers on the ViMOS linecard, Taiwan-based Nuvoton offers products that feature an unusual combination of advanced technology and an attractive price/performance ratio, providing European OEMs with a new solution to the challenge of creating more appealing end products while reducing total system cost.
The addition of the Nuvoton franchise reinforces ViMOS’ strategy of differentiation based on an innovative supplier offering, responsiveness to individual customer needs and expertise in bill-of-materials cost optimisation at the design stage.
The ViMOS approach to the European market is in contrast to that of established components distributors, which are geared up to provide stable supply arrangements for mid- to high-volume purchasers of familiar components from the biggest brands in electronics. While this approach helps maintain distributors’ recurring sales volumes, it does little to support the efforts of European OEMs to implement innovative designs and to create competitive new products.
By contrast, the mission of ViMOS is to meet untapped European demand for new and alternative sources of supply, particularly from an emerging generation of Taiwan-based component manufacturers, such as Nuvoton, Richtek, JORJIN and SONIX, which are bringing a new spirit of entrepreneurialism, innovation and 24/7 commitment to satisfying customer demands.
