The global connector manufacturer and supplier ITT Cannon has released a new Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) Quad Lock Connector (QLC) for use in the medical imaging and diagnostic equipment market. The device is said by the company to be an industry first which achieves a reduction in interconnect packaging while meeting robust performance requirements and functional enhancements such as press-fit.

Belden, a leading supplier of signal transmission solutions for mission critical applications, has set up the Connectivity Center to assist customer-specific developments in the EMEA region. Customer-specific developments are offered for connectors and cordsets as well as for active and passive I/O modules for fieldbus or Ethernet networks from its Lumberg Automation brand. The centre aims to make production processes easier while cutting the total cost of ownership, TCO.

Digital connectivity solutions provider Gefen has released GAVA (Gefen Audio/Video Automation), a new system for both residential and commercial applications. A hybrid version of the Virginia Panel Corporation (VPC) i2 Micro iConconnector, offering up to 120 signal points and 12 micro coaxial or micro power points for multiple I/O interfacing in automatic test systems, is now available in the UK exclusively from the Peak Group. Chomerics Europe has added a new variant to its range of CHO-SHRINK heat shrinkable EMI cable shielding products. The CHO-SHRINK 1120 offers an alternative to traditional heavy metal braid cable shielding in commercial applications such as automotive cable assemblies, telecom cabling and medical electronics. The new material complements the existing CHO-SHRINK 1061 material that is specifically designed to meet the stringent demands and higher performance requirements of military and aerospace applications.

A new high-voltage single module has been added to the HARTING Han-Modular industrial connector series, allowing the transmission of extremely high voltages with a minimum space requirement. The new Han(R) HV single module incorporates TEFLON material to provide high-voltage insulation, allowing a Han(R) 24 B connector, for example, to be designed with up to 12 power contacts rated at 16 A and 2500 V. The module can also be combined with signal and pneumatic modules.

AVX Corporation has further expanded its 9159 Series of SMT connectors with the addition of IDC wire-to-board plug and socket connectors. The new 9159 Series IDC connectors have been designed to enable an easier, more reliable and cost-effective termination of 22-24AWG discrete or cabled power and signal wires into standard 9159 Series two-piece connectors systems, maximising their flexibility by providing them with wire-to-board capabilities.
